Formed in 2001 in Miami, and Produced by touring and television entertainment virtuoso Jon "JW" Williams,THE GROOVELINE has been thrilling and entertaining audiences and partiers for years. From Miami, to Los Angeles, to Japan, to their current home in Dallas, Texas, THE GROOVELINE has a long standing reputation as an outstanding band, boasting exceptional talent and bringing the party every time with energetic, crowd-pleasing performances. Founding member Jon "JW" Williams brings to THE GROOVELINE a career filled with professional highlights: 
including performances for Tiger Woods, Shaquille O'Neal, Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson, Jamie Foxx, Andre Agassi, Judge Judy Sheindlin, Donald Trump, and many more... Along with extensive world touring and numerous live and televised performances.

ABOUT JON "JW" WILLIAMS

 

In a sea of diverse male vocal talent, Singer/Songwriter/Producer Jon Williams (aka, “JW”) is a true stand out, as a remarkable vocalist and a dynamic performer. With a vocal range spanning five octaves, JW boasts an exciting and passionate vocal timbre that is truly and charismatically his own.

Though he has called Los Angeles, Miami, Japan and Dallas home, JW began singing at an early age in the same Newark, New Jersey church in which Whitney Houston got her start. Over several years, JW has performed professionally as a Lead Singer, Backing Vocalist and Session Singer…working with artists (including Julio Iglesias, Jr., former Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson, latin music legends Franco De Vita and Luis Enrique, and others)…both in the United States and internationally, traveling to more than 300 cities in over 40 countries. Along the way he has performed for Donald Trump, Jamie Foxx, Rosie O’Donnel, Judge Judy Sheindlin, Dr. Phil McGraw, Tiger Woods, Andre Agassi, Mark Tremonti (from “Creed” & “Alter Bridge”), Barry Gibb, Regis Philbin, and many other notables. He has also opened for music legend Dionne Warwick, and others. In recent years, he has honed his craft through Development Arrangements with Jon Secada’s production team, as well as with the internationally-renown Berman Brothers (known most notably for the success of “Amber”). And he has garnered Major Label interest from both Universal and Sony/BMG.

Other performance highlights include a performance at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas with Julio Iglesias, Jr., and a performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City, with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Gunther Schuller. Televised performances include “Live!…with Regis and Kathie Lee”, the Martin Short Show, and a featured performance with artist C.G. Ryche, in the nationally televised P.B.S. special presentation, “C.G. Ryche Live In Concert.

A talented musican as well as a singer, JW also honed his musicianship and  vocal abilities while attending the renown University of Miami School of Music, majoring in Studio Music and Jazz Vocal Performance.

JW’s original composition and production, “Tell Me That You’re Comin’ Round”,  is featured in the acclaimed 2007 feature film “DIRTY LAUNDRY”, starring Loretta Devine, Rockmond Dunbar, Sommore, and Jennifer Lewis. And to date, as a recording artist and producer, JW continues to create original music that is fresh and progressive, yet filled with the riches of the music that has inspired him.
